Tummy Tucks
Tummy Tucks
Abdominoplasties, or tummy tucks, are one of the more common procedures that I perform. In fact, with baby boomers now just about finished having their children, tummy tucks have skyrocketed in popularity.
After pregnancy or weight loss, there is extra skin of the belly. The muscles drift to the sides, causing the abdomen to pouch forward.
Tummy tucks improve the appearance of the abdomen by removing excess skin and fat and by tightening the muscles.
I will keep you in the hospital for usually one evening following your tummy tuck, sending you home the next day. This is a “real gain, real pain” procedure - you’ll be out of work 2-3 weeks.
This procedure is one of the most rewarding in plastic surgery because not only is there a cosmetic benefit, but there is a functional improvement. Posture is improved, back pain is often helped, and strength of the abdomen increases.
